The Pearl is an urban mixed-use building located in Downtown Johnson City, TN. The street level is business and the upper floor has been converted to 3 unique urban apartments. We had the challenge of creating loft apartments within an infill situation that still gave the units plenty of natural lighting. After many design iterations we decided to carve out lightwells down into each unit that would flood the space with light and also achieve a functional space.
